About Us

Started in the 1960’s, by the Pathology Chair of WVU at the advent of the creation of the Health Sciences Center in Morgantown WV. The association grew with the vision and direction of Drs. Wilhelm Albrink and Milton Hales.  Today, the West Virginia Association of Pathologists currently has 54 members consisting of licensed pathologists, and pathology residents from all areas within the state. 

The WVAP is a network of like-minded physicians that together work towards creating both diagnostic and educational programs that produce guidelines for the betterment of the field. The WVAP is a place of continued professional support and friendships that are attuned to important state and local issues within the field to include job placement, education, and legislation that affects the profession.
